An exploration of the S/S25 collection, our latest editorial represents a change of pace. Time dilates; the franticness of our daily lives recede. Were it not for the sun that hangs above us, conjuring shadows and dappled shade, it would be easy to ignore time altogether. A slowness that matches the simmering heat of Jamaica permeates the images of Julia Marino, taken just as another day draws to a close.

Shades of dusky pink and beige appear across our garment-dyed Nelson Sweatshirts and Shorts, reflective of the sky at sunset. Relaxed fits, dropped shoulders, and cinching rib-knit trims underpin a sense of ease and comfort.

With their loose silhouettes, the Double Knee Pant and Women’s Brandon Short follow suit, complemented by airy cotton long-sleeve shirts and breathable mesh t-shirts. Meanwhile, two new skirts are introduced to the women’s collection, including a lightweight cargo style and a short-length canvas piece, featuring elements which nod to our classic work pants.

Julia Marino is a Dutch-Italian photographer based in Paris, whose work explores human connection while fostering a dialogue with her portrait subjects. This March, she debuts the publication A Reflection on Belonging alongside stylist Rebecca Purshouse, examining their personal ties to the Parisian community, while honoring photographers such as Samuel Fosso and Malick Sidibé.

About Carhartt Work In Progress

Established in 1994 by Edwin Faeh, Carhartt Work In Progress (WIP) develops its own collections based on original Carhartt workwear. The brand combines authentic adaptations of these robust American archetypes, while engaging with the subcultures that have embraced it. This, in turn, has seen Carhartt WIP place itself in a new context and bring forth its own classics.

Carhartt WIP opened its first store in London in 1997 and today operates over 80 brick and mortar locations worldwide. It also has its own skate team and music department, while supporting an array of artists and releasing various in-house publications. Since 2010, Carhartt WIP has worked with a number of like-minded collaborators, including A.P.C., Converse, Fragment Design, Junya Watanabe, Nike, Underground Resistance, and Motown.
