Fall/Winter 2023 Preview

A look at the upcoming Carhartt WIP collection, featuring a series of hickory-stripe pieces, robust denim silhouettes, and a seasonal Heart motif.
Fall/Winter 2023 sees the introduction of the Terrell program, which offers a contemporary take on hickory stripe uniforms traditionally worn by American railroad workers. Included in the program are a selection of poplin-lined jackets, single-knee pants, chambray shirts, and accessories.
Heavyweight denim is an additional focus of the season, best illustrated by the Nash Jacket and Pant – both feature utilitarian accents such as metal rivets, triple stitching, and multiple patch pockets.
Items in the Terrell and Nash programs are further detailed with a Heart motif, nodding to the brand’s graphic archive. This season, the motif comes in the form of a woven label, embroidered patch, and printed graphic.
A series of loose-fit jersey items and garment-dyed sweatshirts offset the edit.

Carhartt Work In Progress (WIP) is a clothing brand that adapts and modifies the core products of the pioneering American workwear brand Carhartt to create its own collections. Established in 1994 by Edwin Faeh, the brand’s audience is as likely to associate its iconic yellow ‘C’ motif with late 90s hip hop videos or skate clips as they are with factories or manual labor. This distinction is key when defining Carhartt WIP.
Carhartt WIP engages with different cultural spheres: from Detroit and Berlin’s symbiotic techno scenes, to skateboarding and its communities that span Paris, New York, and Seoul, to the contemporary art world. The brand channels these influences, reflecting the culture that has formed around it. This can be seen and felt in its collections, imagery, and collaboration partners. Today, Carhartt WIP operates over 100 brick and mortar retail stores across Europe, Asia, and the US, as well as working with select wholesale clients.
