Carhartt WIP x Nicholas Daley

For Fall/Winter 2025, Carhartt WIP has collaborated with fashion designer Nicholas Daley to create a 13-piece capsule collection. Built on a shared appreciation of music and the culture that surrounds it, the collection sees the British designer pay tribute to the pioneering reggae club night created by his parents, Maureen and Jeffrey Daley. The night was first hosted in Edinburgh in 1972, and subsequently ran across Scotland until 1982. For this collaboration, Daley celebrates his core values of community, craftsmanship and culture, while nodding to his own heritage, with subtle references to both Jamaica and Scotland woven throughout the collection.

Known for combining functional, workwear-inspired silhouettes with a sense of off-kilter craftsmanship, Daley’s clothes are imbued with a certain subcultural sensibility. The designer’s deep connection to music — evident in campaigns, events, and the clothes themselves — create a natural resonance with Carhartt WIP, whose iconic styles serve as a mainstay in the wardrobes of DJs, musicians, and club-goers across continents and genres.

Within the collection, there are nods to music ephemera, such as custom pin badges and t-shirts inspired by his parents’ ‘Reggae Klub’ nights, as well as a record bag rendered in a custom tartan print, created in collaboration with the knitting circle Daley’s mother organizes. This nod to ancestral craftsmanship also appears on a short harrington-style jacket, executed in a classic herringbone twill with contrast corduroy pockets. Its color palette, meanwhile, employs rich blues, greens, and mustard yellows – a reference to the St Andrew’s Cross flags of both Jamaica and Scotland.

Carhartt WIP’s chore coat is reimagined in a mix of navy corduroy and indigo denim. The design bears contrast stitching that accentuates the subtle alterations Daley made to this iconic style. Other Carhartt WIP archetypes in the collection — including the Vest, Double Knee Pant, and Cargo Pant — draw from similar design cues.

Additionally, the collection features jersey-based pieces, such as the custom striped t-shirt, detailed with a chest pocket, and a hooded sweatshirt, accented by corduroy and contrast stitching. There is also the inclusion of two headwear styles: a knitted, striped bucket hat and Daley’s signature Baker Boy design in a robust canvas that will soften and patina over time.

A set of incense sticks round out the collection. These have been made in collaboration with Japanese incense manufacturer Kuumba International, and developed to reflect the natural outdoor scents of Jamaica and Scotland.

Each item within the collection features a custom woven label, with a logo lock-up hand-drawn by Daley, referencing 70s psychedelic vinyl typography, while emphasizing the care and personal touch given to each element of this collaboration.

Shot and directed by Bolade Banjo, with styling by Stephen Mann, the accompanying campaign features South London musicians Wu-Lu and Mia Koden, as well as US rapper Pink Siifu, framed by the historic walls of community members’ venue Peckham Liberal Club. The soundtrack featured in the video is led by Mia Koden, with additional vocals from both Pink Siifu and Wu-Lu.

Early access to the collection will be available on October 22 via nicholasdaley.net and the Carhartt WIP App. The collection will officially launch on October 23, accompanied by global release events at Carhartt WIP Store Shibuya on launch day, followed by an event at Carhartt WIP Store Brooklyn on October 24.

The collection will be available at select Carhartt WIP stores and retailers across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. It will also be released online at nicholasdaley.net, carhartt-wip.com, and through the Carhartt WIP App.

About Carhartt Work In Progress

Carhartt Work In Progress (WIP) is a clothing brand that adapts and modifies the core products of the pioneering American workwear brand Carhartt to create its own collections. Established in 1994 by Edwin Faeh, the brand’s audience is just as likely to associate its iconic yellow C motif with late 90s hip hop videos or skate clips, as they are with factories or manual labor. This distinction is key in defining what Carhartt WIP does. Carhartt WIP engages with different cultural spheres: from Detroit and Berlin’s symbiotic techno scenes, to skateboarding and its communities that span Paris, New York, and Seoul, to the contemporary art world. The brand channels these influences, representing the culture which has formed around it. This can be seen and felt in its collections, its imagery, and its choice of partners and collaborators. Today, Carhartt WIP operates over 100 brick and mortar retail stores across Europe, Asia, and the US, as well as working with select wholesale clients.
