Carhartt WIP x Awake NY
For Spring/Summer 2023, Carhartt WIP has once again collaborated with Awake NY to create an eight-piece capsule collection.
The collection follows the natural evolution of a long-standing friendship between both brands, and sees Carhartt WIP’s rugged, utilitarian silhouettes combined with Awake NY’s signature prints and bold embroidery.
Archetypal Carhartt WIP items in the brand’s Dearborn Canvas, like the OG Active Jacket, have been reworked to feature embroidered co-branding and Awake NY’s painterly floral motifs. This recurring graphic has been applied to the Awake NY Double Knee Pant and Hooded Sweatshirt, as well as the varsity-inspired Teddy Jacket, which features faux-leather sleeves, graphic patches and embroidered lettering.
Additionally, the collaboration sees the inclusion of knitted items, such as the jacquard Awake NY Cardigan and the Un Amor Beanie, which is detailed with graphic embroidery and a woven Square Label on the front. Shades of Awake NY Black, Dark Green, Blue, and Hamilton Brown run throughout the collection.
The accompanying campaign was styled by creative director Alastair McKimm and shot by renowned fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti. Known for his signature style of portraiture, Sorrenti’s body of work spans three decades and has seen him shoot for some of fashion’s most respected magazines. The cast draws from Awake NY’s community of creatives, and features the likes of Raul Lopez, Jon Gray, Nevaskimp, Fatima B, Annette Cruz, Ray Morales, Victor Vegas, and legendary hip-hop artist Rakim.
Carhartt WIP x Awake NY will be released on April 6th.
The collection will be available from select Carhartt WIP stores and global retailers, as well as carhartt-wip.com and awakenyclothing.com.

Established in 1994 by Edwin Faeh, Carhartt WIP (Work In Progress) develops its own collections based on original Carhartt workwear. The brand combines authentic adaptations of these robust American archetypes, while engaging with the subcultures that have embraced it. This, in turn, has seen Carhartt WIP place itself in a new context and bring forth its own classics.
Carhartt WIP opened its first store in London in 1997 and today operates over 80 locations worldwide. It also has its own skate team and music department, while supporting a slew of artists and releasing various in-house publications.
Awake NY
Launched in 2012 by Angelo Baque, former brand director of Supreme, Awake NY captures the unique cultural spirit and sensibility of New York City. Awake NY is a reflection of the diversity that has defined the city's cultural landscape. Simultaneously classic and contemporary, Awake NY evokes both the changing aesthetic vibrancy and timelessness of New York.
