Carhartt WIP is pleased to announce the opening of its first location in Canada, situated on Ossington Avenue, Toronto.
Nestled in Trinity-Bellwoods, a neighbourhood renowned for its namesake park and vibrant cultural scene, the store’s location reflects Carhartt WIP’s enduring connection to art, music, and subculture.
The store is designed by Salomée Faeh and the Milan-based architecture studio of Andrea Caputo. Defined by clean lines and an open layout, the space combines a contemporary design approach with distinct industrial detailing, in a manner that reflects Carhartt WIP’s unique DNA.
Unifying the store’s various sections, an extensive arrangement of tiles across central display units, shelves, the till area, and a sound system contrasts with the space’s raw concrete textures and solid steel beams, establishing a sense of balance and refinement.
To celebrate the opening, Carhartt WIP has created a limited selection of store exclusive items, featuring graphics that pay homage to the neighbourhood’s history, as well as the people and landmarks which have shaped its current landscape, such as the nearby Crawford Street Bridge.
Carhartt WIP Store Toronto is set to open at the beginning of 2025.

fdecarlo@carhartt-wip.comAbout Carhartt Work In Progress
Established in 1994 by Edwin Faeh, Carhartt Work In Progress (WIP) develops its own collections based on original Carhartt workwear. The brand combines authentic adaptations of these robust American archetypes, while engaging with the subcultures that have embraced it. This, in turn, has seen Carhartt WIP place itself in a new context and bring forth its own classics.
Carhartt WIP opened its first store in London in 1997 and today operates over 80 brick and mortar locations worldwide. It also has its own skate team and music department, while supporting an array of artists and releasing various in-house publications. Since 2010, Carhartt WIP has worked with a number of like-minded collaborators, including A.P.C., Converse, Fragment Design, Junya Watanabe, Nike, Underground Resistance, and Motown.
