Carhartt WIP Store Opening: Zurich Füsslistrasse

Carhartt WIP is pleased to announce the opening of its latest store in Zurich, located on Füsslistrasse 6 in the historic Altstadt (Old Town) district.

The 197sqm store occupies a former telephone exchange that once served as Zurich’s principal communications hub. The store’s interior, designed by Netherlands-based production and design studio The Eyden Berg and Salomée Faeh, retains some of its original features: floor-to-ceiling perforated metal shelving and sliding mesh panels. These are complemented by concrete walls and shelving, and galvanized steel tubing, echoing Carhartt WIP’s industrial design language. Organic materials offer a sense of balance: plinths in dark timber, lacquered wood and green marble.

The store will feature a permanent artwork by Zurich-based artist Shamiran Istifan, titled Angel on Top (2026). A hand-sewn canvas piece, the artwork carries a chromatic finish that reflects the store’s industrial material palette. Its composition is Istifan’s re-interpretation of The Nightmare, an 18th-century painting by Swiss artist Johann Heinrich Füssli. To mark the opening, a limited-edition t-shirt featuring Istifan’s graphics is available in-store.

Carhartt WIP Store Zurich Füsslistrasse opened its doors on October 29, 2026.

About Carhartt Work In Progress

Established in 1994 by Edwin Faeh, Carhartt Work In Progress (WIP) develops its own collections based on original Carhartt workwear. The brand combines authentic adaptations of these robust American archetypes, while engaging with the subcultures that have embraced it. This, in turn, has seen Carhartt WIP place itself in a new context and bring forth its own classics.

Carhartt WIP opened its first store in London in 1997 and today operates over 80 brick and mortar locations worldwide. It also has its own skate team and music department, while supporting an array of artists and releasing various in-house publications. Since 2010, Carhartt WIP has worked with a number of like-minded collaborators, including A.P.C., Converse, Fragment Design, Junya Watanabe, Nike, Underground Resistance, and Motown.
