Carhartt WIP Skateboarding

Established in 1994, Carhartt Work In Progress (WIP) is a clothing brand that adapts and modifies the core products of the pioneering American workwear brand Carhartt to create its own collections.

Since its inception, Carhartt WIP has engaged with different cultural spheres spanning music, art, and design, with skateboarding and BMX rooted in the brand from the start. Over the years, its skate department has evolved into a global effort, supporting local scenes and connecting communities worldwide through its own skate team, full-length skate films, and collaborations.

Carhartt WIP’s skate team continues to grow, with an international group of riders: Willow Voges Fernandes, Noah Mahieu, Maité Steenhoudt, Kyonosuke Yamashita, Max Palmer….

The brand has also produced three full-length skate films in the past five years: Inside Out (2022), filmed across Europe; Precious (2024), filmed in NYC and Los Angeles; and Ishin Denshin (2025), filmed in Tokyo, connecting Japanese team riders with the wider team roster.

Past collaborators include Converse CONS, Australian label Pass~Port, skate media platform Quartersnacks, and Dutch brand Pop Trading Company.
