Carhartt WIP is pleased to announce the opening of its latest store, situated in the El Born area of Barcelona, Spain.

Located on the same street as the previous El Born store – which was Carhartt WIP’s second oldest retail space – the new store spans over 400 square meters split across two floors. It will carry both Carhartt WIP men’s and women’s collections, as well as special projects and collaborations.

Located within a historic building on the vibrant Plaza Comercial, the space was designed by the studio of Milanese architect Andrea Caputo, which sought to amplify the building’s unique characteristics, while staying true to the brand’s DNA. The result is a space that utilizes raw and industrial elements, alongside more refined touches, such as a glossy walnut wood structure that bridges both floors, emphasizing the size and proportion of the space.

The space also displays original works from a longtime friend and collaborator of the brand, the NYC-based artist Kostas Seremetis, as well as the Spanish artist Alehsy, whose signature graphic style also appeared on two exclusive t-shirts created to mark the launch of the store.


Carhartt WIP marked the opening of the store on December 1st with an event that featured local acts, as well as the London-based rapper Flohio.

Carhartt WIP has unveiled its latest skate project, Hollandsch Diep, a short-format video and selection of exclusive products that spotlight the brand’s Dutch team riders.



Central to the nine minute feature are a core of Carhartt WIP skaters, including Rob Maatman, Sebastiaan Vijverberg, Robbin De Wit, and Lex Van der Does, while there is also a cameo from the German skater Joscha Aischer.



The video was shot in and around the city of Rotterdam by Jan Maarten Sneep, who has gained notoriety for his Memory Screen Youtube channel, which sees him remaster classic skate videos. A familiar hazy grain appears throughout Hollandsch Diep, as well as graphic overlays by Sneep, which also appear on the accompanying products – a hooded sweatshirt and a long-sleeve t-shirt, both in black.



The products created for this project will be exclusive to Carhartt WIP’s Rotterdam and Amsterdam Hartenstraat stores – available from December 8th. 



The first screening of the film will also take place on December 8th at Carhartt WIP Store Rotterdam, before its online debut on December 12th via the European skate media platform Freeskatemag

Captured in a school in the suburbs of Paris, this week’s FW22 editorial spotlights items that draw inspiration from Carhartt WIP’s own archival advertising from the 1990s, as well as elements of American casual-wear. 

The images were shot by the Paris-based photographer Sylvain Sey, with an accompanying video directed by Theodor Guelat, who both interpret the seasonal themes in a playful yet visually rich way.

Featured is the Letterman Jacket in both the men’s and women’s collections, constructed from corduroy with a diamond-quilted lining, and embroidered with collegiate-style graphics. This appears alongside items like the S/S Linograph and W’ S/S Fisheye T-Shirts, which are detailed with a new seasonal motif. In the women’s collection, styles like the W’ Plains and W’ Ella Highneck Liners are robust layering options for Fall/Winter due to their textured pile exteriors and insulating mesh lining. Additionally, the Brandon Pant for men is a new five-pocket denim style this season, characterized by its loose slouchy fit. This facet of the FW22 collection also includes heavy outerwear like the Doville Jacket for men and women, designed featuring a water-repellent polyester shell and artificial down filling. The selection is rounded out by accessories such as the Cord Bucket Hat and pile-lined Jackson Cap

Set to open on December 3rd, Carhartt WIP and The Social Food will take over Tommaso Coffee, located inside Merci, the iconic Parisian concept store.



The pop-up builds upon Carhartt WIP’s previous ventures into the world of coffee — which has seen in-store coffee bars appear in London, Manchester and Antwerp — and is a collaboration with The Social Food, a dynamic creative studio based in Paris that specializes in food styling, design and photography.

The studio, founded by Shirley Garrier and Mathieu Zouhairi, is also known for its engaging Instagram presence, which sees them offering new recipes and regularly collaborating with the most interesting new chefs and restaurants from the Paris food scene.

Carhartt WIP x The Social Food will see a selection of Italian coffee-based drinks sold, including cappuccino, affogato, and shakerato. As well as this, it will sell paninis and maritozzi, which are sweet cream-filled buns that originally hail from Rome.

To accompany this unique collaboration, Carhartt WIP has created a series of products marking the occasion. This includes a t-shirt, an apron and hooded sweatshirt, bearing exclusive graphics, as well as a selection of co-branded goods made by the Japanese brand Kinto.

For FW22, Carhartt WIP has collaborated with Liberty Fabric, creating a five-piece capsule that ushers in the festive season.

Drawing on Liberty Fabric's rich archive of designs, the collection sees the creation of a two-piece set of pajamas which reference two classic Carhartt WIP styles in their design. The shirt’s patch pockets nod to a classic chore coat, while the corresponding pant features a hammer loop and knee panel detailing, traditionally found on the brand’s Double Knee Pant. This utilitarian base is softened by the seasonal color palette chosen, which comprises deep hues of purple, tan, and gold, executed in a classic Paisley print design. These items are further complemented by a Carhartt WIP made with Liberty Fabric sleeping mask, which utilizes the same print.


In addition to the pajama set – which will also be available at select Carhartt WIP stores globally – the collaboration includes a series of products that are exclusive to Liberty London. A graphic t-shirt appears alongside a set of two Christmas tree ornaments, offered in Liberty’s signature shade of purple and featuring a twinkling ‘C’ Logo motif.


Liberty London will also carry a limited number of carry-on suitcases, created for this collaboration by the iconic British luggage brand Globe-Trotter. Each one is hand-crafted in Nottingham and lined with the Liberty Fabric print that features throughout the collection, while also featuring hand-painted Carhartt WIP branding on the outer-case.

The accompanying images for this collaboration were shot by London-based photographer Scott Gallagher, channeling a modern-day twist on a bacchanalian feast.

Carhartt WIP made with Liberty Fabric will be available from December 1st.

WIP magazine returns for its seventh issue this November, to explore the alluring spectacle of post-pandemic crowds, the outré electronic creations of Kelman Duran, and the state of Tokyo nightlife with the city’s resident renaissance man Kunichi Nomura.


The 152-page publication uses the lens of crowd dynamics to interrogate underground scenes, from Cypriot football ultras to Copenhagen skaters, in a sprawling dossier titled Critical Mass. In addition, it features the work of German artist Clemens von Wedemeyer, who has long harnessed the power of crowds for his work, while also exploring AI and the largest crowd of all, Big Data. There are also essays from Real Review founder Jack Self, ruminating on the future of tear gas, and Zsófia Paulikovics on fuel shortages and panic in Hungary, alongside an original archive-based creation from the video artist Rawtape.



Issue 07 also sees musician Kelman Duran shot in Barcelona, a city which has provided the US artist refuge while he creates his atmospheric soundscapes that draw from his scholarly background. T-Bone Fletcher, meanwhile, travels to Mississippi to catch Nico Walker, the army veteran turned bank robber turned bestselling author, as he discusses the process of storytelling and the myth of agency with writer Holly Connolly.



The brand’s FW22 collection is also showcased through editorials by Paris-based Jan Philipzen and the Los Angeles photographer Yudo Kurita.



Elsewhere in the issue, critic Hua Hsu discusses passion projects and zine-making, the Milanese architecture firm Space Caviar elaborate on their ethos of non-extractive architecture, leftfield electronic duo Salamanda from Seoul tell us what the color pink sounds like, and essayist Philippa Snow pays tribute to the enduring legacy of artist Pippa Garner, ahead of her first major solo exhibition in Europe.


WIP magazine issue 07 will be available from select retailers, Carhartt WIP stores, and carhartt-wip.com from November 17th. The brand will also preview the release with an exhibition and event in Tokyo on November 2nd.

Carhartt WIP is pleased to announce the opening of its latest store, located in Hamburg. It is the brand’s second in the city and ​​brings the total number of Carhartt WIP stores in Germany to nine.

The store is situated in Hamburg’s vibrant Neustadt quarter, home to landmarks like the Michel church and Laeiszhalle music hall, while the building itself is just as historically significant, being the birthplace of Heinrich Hertz, a physicist who discovered the existence of radio waves and after whom the Hertz (Hz) unit of sound frequency is named.

In anticipation of the store’s launch, Carhartt WIP hosted an event in the space in August titled the Hamburg House Warming. It was a celebration of both the building’s history in sound, as well the brand’s own ties to music and radio. The event featured DJ sets from local artists Gome and Nissa, and a live performance from UK rapper Lord Apex, who also appears in Carhartt WIP’s FW22 campaign.

The store was designed by the Milan-based architecture studio of Andrea Caputo and features industrial details throughout, such as neutral concrete walls and tropicalized steel poles. There is also a semi-circular sound system built into the back of the lower floor, occupying over five meters of space – an homage to the building’s Hertzian heritage. Additionally, two original artworks by London-based artist Lucas Price, who collaborated with the brand on its FW21 campaign, will be on permanent display.

The space is 220 square meters big and will carry Carhartt WIP men’s and women’s collections, as well as collaborations and special projects.

Carhartt WIP has created a small selection of store-exclusive products for its launch in November, including t-shirts and playing cards detailed with a motif that nods to the first Hamburg store opening.

Carhartt WIP Store Hamburg opens its doors to the public on November 10th.

For FW22, Carhartt WIP has once again collaborated with mastermind JAPAN, creating an 8-piece capsule collection.

The collection sees iconic Carhartt WIP styles – including the OG Active Jacket and Bib Overall – executed in mastermind JAPAN’s all-black palette with silver accents and hardware, as well as the brand’s signature skull motif. This branding appears both as a reflective print on the MMJ Coach Jacket, and as silver embroidery on items such as the Double Knee Jogger Pant – which is a jersey-based take on a classic work pant.

Also included is a hooded sweatshirt, and a loose pocket t-shirt in both short and long sleeves. A pile-fleece neckwarmer rounds out the collection. These items all draw from the same consistent aesthetic, and feature co-branded labeling throughout.

This is not the first time the two brands have collaborated, with the last partnership coming in 2018. The collection continues this ongoing relationship with mastermind JAPAN founder Masaaki Homma, who founded his label in 1997.

mastermind JAPAN has since gone on to garner a cult following through Homma’s use of skull motifs, as well as his focus on Japanese craftsmanship that has helped to create a brand that effortlessly blends elements of street- and sportswear with a considered elegance.

Carhartt WIP x mastermind JAPAN will be released in Asia and the USA on November 12th, and in Europe on November 19th. The collection will be sold at select Carhartt WIP stores, as well as MASTERMIND TOKYO and the mastermind PV store.

Shot by photographer Solène Gun, the brand’s latest editorial spotlights the FW22 Store Exclusives capsule, which sees seasonal styles updated and reimagined, offering a new perspective on the mainline collection.

This season’s capsule features a distinct military bent, where multiple utility pockets, faux shearling top collars, and military-style woven labels detail garments such as the Tristan Shirt Jacket, Garrison Liner, and Moray Jacket. The capsule’s palette further expands on this theme, with shades of slate green, khaki beige, and black featuring prominently throughout.

Items like the embroidered Multi World Stadium jacket, meanwhile, are more varsity-inspired. These are complemented by the capsule’s baseball-style shirts and long-sleeve polos. The collection is rounded out by jersey-based staples, bucket hats, and fabric belts.

The Carhartt WIP Store Exclusives collection is limited to the brand’s stores and online shop.



Shot in the rural plains of Southern England by photography duo Lola & Pani, Carhartt WIP’s latest FW22 editorial weaves themes of foraging and woodland exploration into its imagery.

Garments featured include the Pond Sweater, a jacquard item knit from lambswool-blend yarn, and the Prentis Vest Liner, which is detailed with a new camouflage motif executed in traditional woodland colors. There is also the addition of the Active Cold Jacket, which sees a signature Carhartt WIP style updated with artificial down filling and a water-repellent, poly-cotton exterior. In women’s, the W' Erie Jacket offers a similar silhouette, complete with artificial down insulation and a water-repellent, nylon ripstop shell.

Elsewhere, items such as the Kilda Jacket and Pant add a brutalist Scandinavian bent to the editorial, seen in the garments’ 3D pockets, taped zips, and reflective labeling. These are juxtaposed with soft fleece styles like the Brody Sweat Pullover in men’s, and the W’ Ella Highneck Liner in women’s.

Based in London, Lola & Pani work across documentary, portrait, and fashion photography. Lola Paprocka is the founder of Palm* Studios, an independent publishing house which published Pani Paul’s critically-acclaimed book Mile End in 2015. The duo have been working together since 2014.
